EASY APPLE PIE

A quick, affordable and healthy dessert for young and old alike. For this recipe we use hamburger rolls because when toasted its texture becomes nice and soft, resembling dessert crust. Sesame seeds combined with apples lend it a rich taste.

INGREDIENTS

(1 serving)

  • 62 g Grecian Living hamburger roll (1 roll)
  • 15 g butter
  • 2 medium red apples
  • ½ teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon powdered cloves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

PROCESS

  1. Wash and peel the apples, discard the seeds, cut the stems and dice.
  2. In a hot pan add butter and cook apples over low heat.
  3. Add the sugar.
  4. When the apples become soft and golden, remove from the heat and sprinkle cinnamon and cloves.
  5. Cut the roll into half, spread butter and toast for 3 minutes.
  6. Place one bread half on a plate, add half of the apple mixture, cover with the other half and top with the rest of the apple mixture.
  7. Sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar and cinnamon. If you prefer it sweeter, you can add one teaspoon honey.
